HeavyLog is a personal reference tool only. This app does not represent any government entity. It is not approved, endorsed or recognised by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR), the Australian Government, any State or Territory transport authority, or any other government agency.

HeavyLog does not replace your legal obligation to maintain a compliant work diary or logbook as required under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and NHVR regulations.

Always consult the official NHVR work diary requirements and seek independent legal or compliance advice for your obligations under the HVNL.

1. Overview

HeavyLog (“the App”) is a personal fatigue management reference tool for heavy vehicle drivers. It is designed for personal use only to help drivers informally track their work and rest activities against Australian NHVR fatigue guidelines.

HeavyLog is available as a free app on Android and as an app with an optional paid subscription on iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your information when you use HeavyLog on either platform. Where a practice applies only to one platform, this is stated.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy is written in plain English so you understand exactly what happens with your data.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you use HeavyLog, you may enter the following information:

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

HeavyLog does not collect analytics, crash reports, advertising identifiers or general usage data, and does not profile or track you. The free Android app does not connect to any server or third-party service.

The paid iOS app connects to Apple and to our subscription provider (RevenueCat) only to manage your subscription, as described in Section 7. This is limited to subscription and purchase information and never includes your logbook entries, driver profile, vehicle details or location.

3. How We Use Your Information

All information you enter is used solely to:

On the iOS app, subscription and purchase information is used only to verify whether you have an active subscription and to unlock the App accordingly (see Section 7).

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, marketing or any purpose other than operating the App on your device.

4. Data Storage

All data you enter into HeavyLog is stored locally on your device only:

The only information that leaves your device is the subscription and purchase data on the paid iOS app, used solely to verify your subscription (see Section 7).

Data retention: If you uninstall the App or clear app data, your log entries will be permanently deleted. We strongly recommend regularly exporting your log using the built-in Export function.

5. Location Data

HeavyLog requests access to your device’s GPS location only when you tap the location button in the activity entry screen. Location data is used solely to auto-fill the location field in your log entry.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent or share your personal information with any third party for marketing. Your logbook data, driver profile and location never leave your device.

On the paid iOS app, limited subscription and purchase data is shared with Apple and with our subscription provider (RevenueCat) solely to process and verify your subscription. This is described in detail in Section 7.

We may be required to disclose information if compelled by law. However, as we do not store your logbook data on our servers, we have no such data to disclose.

7. Subscriptions and Payments (iOS)

The HeavyLog Android app is free. The HeavyLog iOS app is offered as an optional paid subscription with a free trial. This section applies only to the iOS app.

7.1 Apple In-App Purchase

All payments are processed by Apple through your Apple ID using Apple’s In-App Purchase system. HeavyLog never receives or stores your payment card details or Apple ID credentials. Billing, renewals, refunds and cancellations are handled entirely by Apple. You can view or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions. Apple’s handling of your information is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

7.2 Subscription Management (RevenueCat)

To determine whether you have an active subscription, the iOS app uses RevenueCat, Inc., a subscription-management service based in the United States. When you start a trial, subscribe, or restore a purchase, the App sends RevenueCat:

RevenueCat uses this information only to validate your subscription and return your access status to the App. RevenueCat does not receive your logbook entries, driver profile, vehicle details or location. RevenueCat’s handling of your information is governed by RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.

7.3 Free Trial and Auto-Renewal

The subscription includes a free trial. After the trial, it automatically renews at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the trial or current billing period. Free-trial eligibility is determined by Apple and tied to your Apple ID. Current prices are shown in the App before you subscribe.

8. Third-Party Services

Apart from the iOS subscription services described in Section 7 (Apple and RevenueCat), HeavyLog does not integrate with, connect to or transmit data to any third-party services, advertising networks, analytics providers or social media platforms. The free Android app operates entirely offline on your device.

9. Children’s Privacy

HeavyLog is intended for use by adults holding a heavy vehicle licence. The App is not directed at children under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Security

Because all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends on the security of your device. We recommend:

11. Your Rights

You have full control over your data at all times:

As your logbook data is stored locally on your device and we do not maintain any server-side records of it, there is no need to submit a data access or deletion request to us for that data.

For the anonymous subscription data held by RevenueCat in connection with the iOS app (see Section 7), you may contact us at the address below to request its deletion.

12. Limitation of Liability

HeavyLog is provided as a personal reference tool only, on an “as is” basis with no warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

14. Contact Us
